Alverez Electric Motors Company unveiled a line-up of electric vehicles last week at the National Association of Minority Auto Dealers in Las Vegas. The vehicles look just like any other low-speed electric vehicle. Alverez EVs will be sold in Ecocentres which are part of a dealership network dedicated to economical, environmentally friendly fleet and consumer vehicles.
Ramon Alverez said that the cars main reason for being is their low price tag and zero-emission status. “Americans who love the environment and hate the price of gasoline are showing an increasing level of interest in owning an electric vehicle…” The Alverez Electric motor Company hopes to bridge the gap between these customers and the relatively high-cost of ownership – the commuter car is priced just under $10,000 and is eligible for thousands of dollars in rebates and tax credits through local, state and federal governments.
Prices start at $9995 for the Eco-E comuuter car, $16,995 for the EcoTruck and $17,995 for the EcoVan. All of the vehicles have a top speed of 25 mph and a calimed range between 25 and 40 miles. The vehicles are made by Liuzhou Wuling Special Purpose Vehicle Manufacturing in China and use absorbed glass mat batteries.
In a press release, Alverez Electric Motors Company says the electric vehicles are expected to use about $5 per month in electricity and can be powered by a standard 110-volt outlet.
