Volkswagen sells e-Golf via charity, makes first delivery in US on Halloween

About a month ago, Volkswagen announced they were auctioning off a Volkswagen e-Golf for charity in an auction they were calling “Take home the US’ first ever Volkswagen e-Golf.” That auction closed on Wednesday, Oct 29th, and the winning bid of $41,400 was placed by Bruce Oberg from Oregon. The closing price for the auction is around $6000 more than the $35,445 MSRP on the e-Golf, and proceeds went to Global Green USA.

Shortly following the auction close on Oct 29th, word got out that on Oct 31, Volkswagen delivered the first e-Golf to a customer in California. According to InsideEVs, Mike Sullivan’s ‘LAcarGuy’ dealership Volkswagen Santa Monica announced they had delivered the first Volkswagen e-Golf in the USA.
