Volkswagen e-Golf recalled for airbag related issue

The Volkswagen e-Golf electric vehicle is being recalled due to a faulty passenger detection system. The system is supposed to detect whether or not the front passenger seat is occupied, and if it should deploy the airbag in the event of a crash.

Volkswagen advises owners of the affected e-Golf vehicles not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat until the issue has been remedied.

Vehicles affected are in the VIN range from 3VW5T7AU7FM001141 to 3VW4T7AU1FM051948
