Olympic Audi A1 e-tron

Audi is a partner of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the National Paralympic Committee of Germany (currently until the end of 2016). Audi has presented the German Olympic Squad with an Audi A1 e-tron wearing the teams colors.

The Audi A1 e-tron is an electric car with a gasoline powered range extending engine. The e-tron’s electric drive system uses a UQM PowerPhase Select ‘125’ electric motor with a controller to power the vehicle. The A1 e-tron will be used as an exhibition car to shuttle athletes between the German House and the MS Deutschland cruise ship.

The Audi A1 e-tron can reach speeds up to 70 miles per hour with it’s 102hp electric motor. When the battery pack is exhausted, the gasoline range extending engine takes over and recharges the battery as required. This increases the range up to 250 kilometers.
