Mitsubishi is recalling 14,700 i-MiEV, iOn and C-Zero electric vehicles because of braking issues. The vehicles affected by the recall include 12,300 i-MiEVs and 2,400 Minicab-MiEVs. 9000 of the vehicles are in Europe and some were sold under the Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero models. Reuters was not clear is any of the US version of the Mitsubishi i were also affected by the recall and the NHTSA website does not list any recall.

The electric brake pump that sends air to the brake booster can be faulty causing braking issues. The repair should only take around 30 minutes.

Since the Mitsubishi i-Miev debuted overseas, around 27,000 of them have been sold (45% affected by recall)/

Last year in the US, Mitsubishi sold 588 i electric vehicles.
