Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive prototype pictures

First seen at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes Benz B-class Electric Drive is coming along nicely. It was recently caught cold weather testing in Sweden, where someone was able to snap some shots of it driving around in prototype form.

The concept car in Paris featured a Tesla sourced lithium ion battery pack and a 100-kW electric motor – but there’s no word on how close the production version will be to the prototype. Some experts estimate the B-class Electric Drive should be able to travel 120 miles on a charge and have a top speed of over 90 miles per hour. It’s expected to have similar functionality to the Prius V hatchback with, of course, additional luxury features.

The B-Class Electric Drive is coming to the US and will likely be offered for sale in late 2013 as a 2014 model.
