Last year, at the 2011 Los Angeles International Auto Show, Honda officially unveiled the Honda Fit EV. A few lucky members of the press got to have a test drive a short time later, and they were all very impressed. Following those reviews and initial buzz on the internet, Honda hasn’t released many details, and that’s led to much speculation.

The biggest concern most people seem to have is that Honda will only be leasing the Honda Fit EV. Further confusion was added when notable websites in the ‘green’ arena posted comments and articles complaining about the lease only option.

So here we go: According to Honda’s Website, the Honda Fit EV will be available for lease in select California and Oregon markets in the summer of 2012, and Honda is expecting to expand the Fit EV to six east coast markets in early 2013.

The price tag? The Honda Fit EV suggested retail price is $36,625 and that translates into a lease of around $399 per month.
