Germany may have 1 million plug-in vehicles by the year 2020

According to a recent Hovarth & Partners study, there will be an estimated 1 million plug-in vehicles on the roads in Germany by the end of 2020.

Germany will have about 150,000 publicly accessible charging stations by the same year, compared to the 5200 public charging stations the US currently has available.

With the upcoming launch of the BMW i3, and followed in 2014 by the Volkswagen e-Golf and e-Passatt, Germany’s brand loyalty could really help a surge in plug-in vehicle adoption.
