George Clooney’s Tesla Roadster to be auctioned for charity

Next month Gooding & Company’s August 19th Pebble Beach auction will include George Clooney’s very own Tesla Roadster. The Roadster has the Obsidian Black Metallic paint with 2 tone leather and was number 8 of the original Signature 100 built in 2008.

Clooney is well known for his philanthropic exploits and the full proceeds from the auction will be given to one of his charities, the Satellite Sentinel Project which aims to prevent a return to civil way between Northern and Southern Sudan. “We are overjoyed to present George Clooney’s Signature 100 Tesla at Pebble Beach because this is an incredible opportunity to purchase a modern collector car with all the right elements: one-owner, celebrity provenance; historical significance; limited-edition rarity and philanthropic ties,” says President and Founder David Gooding.

The auction house estimates the value of the Tesla Roadster at $100,000 to $125,000, but often times a charity auction can bring in much more than the value of the item itself.
