All future Porsche vehicles will have plug

According to a report from Autocar, “All future Porsche models will be available with hybrid-electric drive.” More specifically, all future vehicles from Porsche will have an optional plug-in hybrid model version.

“Speaking at Porsche’s Panamera Hybrid technology workshop, Daniel Semmer said a new hybrid module—which combines an electric motor and clutches in one unit—had been designed by Porsche to fit into all its future cars, including the 911 range.”

Porsche’s first electric vehicle, the Panamera plug-in hybrid, arrives later this year. Porsche’s next generation Panamera PHEV will likely debut late in 2016. The next generation hybrid version is said to be more powerful than the 94hp unit and will have a higher energy density battery pack that powers the upcoming Panamera PHEV.
