Over the weekend, Nissan was accepting tweets as payment for cab rides in Nissan Leaf electric vehicles. Nissan said it was no skin off their backs to provide free cab rides since it’s 6 times cheaper to operate the Leaf over a conventional vehicle. The promotion was part of Nissan’s “The Big Turn On” campaign that was geared to get 1 million people to experience electric vehicle driving in 100 days. Nissan reached the goal 18 days ahead of schedule.
