Coda Sedan rebate ends today

Coda Automotive was offering California consumers a $552 rebate with the purchase of a 2012 Coda Sedan in October. Coda was saying that amount would pay for your electricity for a year and allow you to essentially travel 10,000 miles for free.

“With gas prices this high in California, this is the perfect opportunity to spell out the extremely low operating costs electric vehicles have to consumers,” said Thomas Hausch, CODA senior vice president of sales, marketing and aftersales.

The offer contrasts the high costs of fueling a gasoline vehicle vs the low costs of energy to charge an electric vehicle. The fuel cost to drive a gasoline powered vehicle is approximately $1700 nationally, and over $2000 in California. Electric vehicle are also not subjected to the fuel inflation that internal combustion powered vehicle drivers can experience.

Coda has not released any information as to whether the $552 rebate spurred more sales for the month of October, or whether or not the rebate will be extended or if there will be a similar rebate in the future.
