BYD sells first electric cars in Thailand

We haven’t talked much about BYD automotive here – mostly because the company has repeated delayed the debut of its battery electric vehicles for the North American market. We may soon be wishing we had. BYD has delivered 3 of its electric vehicles to buyers in Thailand.

BYD has been testing its all electric e6 in China for more than 3 years and has sold about 200 electric buses worldwide.

BYD automotive, who has Warren Buffet as an investor, was testing its electric e6 in Los Angeles in 2010 and had previously set US launch dates for 2010, then 2011, and then 2012. Although BYD has opened its North American headquarters in LA, there is still no word from the company as to when the E6 might hit our shores.
