Amongst a host of diesel and hybrid vehicles, BMW will be supplying 40 MINI E electric vehicles as well as 160 1-series Active E models.
These vehicles will be used as transport around the venues and supporting the Olympic Torch Relay. The electric vehicles will showcase BMW’s electric offerings as well as London’s 120 new high-speed charging points.
Rather than compete with China’s elaborate opening and closing ceremonies, London is aiming to go green with it’s Olympic games. While the Olympics are a high-profile way of showing off BMW’s zero emissions electric vehicles worldwide, it is also making the London games one of the greenest games ever.
