4 municipalities in California have announced the purchased of 50 i-MiEV electric vehicles for use in their fleets. Los Gatos will get 5 i-Mievs, Sane Jose will get 38 i-Mievs, and Mill Valley and Campbell will get the other 7. The electric vehicles will be used by city officials in the day-to-day operations.

Los Gatos Mayor, Barbara Spector, said “In addition to being nearly 40 percent less expensive to fuel, these vehicles will significantly reduce the town’s greenhouse gas emissions–over three years our five vehicles will avoid nearly 20,000 pounds of CO2.”
