The 2014 Mercedes Benz S500 plug-in hybrid was officially unveiled today, even though Mercedes said it was going to happen at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September! Here are the highlights:

• estimated fuel economy of 78.4 MPG US
• emits 69 g/k of CO2
• top speed of 155 mph
• 0 – 62 mph in 5.5 seconds
• electric only range of 18.6 miles

More details, like the battery pack size, will come out at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid will arrive at dealerships in 2014.
