Interior photos of BMW Active Tourer Concept

Earlier this week, BMW released teaser photos of the Active Tourer concept vehicle that BMW will debut at the Paris Auto Show next week. Information and pictures were limited. Now BMW has released interior photos of the electric hybrid vehicle, as well as some more specific details about the car.

The Active Tourer is a foot shorter than current 3-series models. The Active Tourer drive train consists of a 3-cylinder turbocharged 1.5 liter engine that drives the front wheels. The rear wheels are driven by an electric motor. Combined, the 2 motors have 190 horsepower with a 0-60mph time of around 8 seconds.

BMW says the Active Tourer will get around 94 miles per gallon on the European test cycle.

Back in June, it was speculated the BMW i8 would be available in 2014. Later that month, reports came out that BMW may shelve plans for the whole i-brand of vehicles including the BMW i3 and the BMW i8. Those myths have since been dispelled as BMW is still saying the BMW i3 will be available in September of 2013.

When the BMW Active Tourer would be available is anyone’s guess.
