Honda bringing Fit EV to car sharing program

Following Ford and Chevy, Honda has announced that it will partner with car sharing service Zipcar. Zipcar will add the Insight Hybrid, the Accord Plug-in Hybrid vehicle in 2014, and the Honda Fit EV starting this fall when they become available.

Zipcar is sawing that Honda is a ‘preferred vehicle manufacturer’ while Honda is calling the deal a way for ‘urban dwelling tech-savvy drivers to get first-hand experience with the new technology.’

Excitement is starting to spread on the Honda Fit EV forum -as the Honda Fit EV gets closer to launch day, Honda starts making more press releases and releasing more tantalizing details about the upcoming Fit all electric vehicle.

Earlier in the year, Zipcar announced that the Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid would be available in Chicago and Ford is targetting college-aged members of the program with 1000 vehicles available including the Ford Focus (and the Ford Focus Electric when it’s available) across the country.
