Automobile Mag has learned that Ford will unveil a 200+ mile electric vehicle designed to compete with the Chevy Bolt EV.

Details are scant, and it isn’t clear if Ford will attempt to get the vehicle out by 2017 to match the release of the Bolt.

Ford will also be ready to compete with Tesla and their affordable Model 3 electric vehicle for under $40,000.

It is unlikely the Ford 200 mile EV will be ready for the New York International Auto Show in April 2015, and Automobile Mag suspects the unveiling will happen as the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Plus, California is the most common place for EVs these days.

  1. This turns out to have been such a crock. Ford has fallen nearly completely out of the EV business despite their talk about “electrification”. Shame!
