Coda Sedan gets EPA rating: Highest range among electric sedans?

2012 Coda Sedan

The Environmental Protection Agency has finished testing the Coda Sedan and has released it’s official numbers. The Coda Sedan has an EPA rated range of 88 miles, and 73 MPGe.

88 mile range is higher than the Nissan Leaf’s range of 73 miles, the Toyota Prius Plug-in’s range and the Chevrolet Volt’s all electric range. Coda Automotive is announcing this class leading number, but Coda is still using 125 miles in their marketing because drivers will be able to get more than the EPA numbers with sensible driving.

The funny part is that the Mitsubishi i Miev has a higher range, but I guess it’s in a different class. The Tesla Model S is also available in a bigger-battery-pack form for a longer range, but it isn’t available yet so maybe it doesn’t count?
