Cadillac ELR in full camouflage, release is next week

Cadillac ELR on a testing run in Southern California

The Cadillac ELR will be revelead January 15th at the North American International Auto Show, and to get the press buzzing, Cadillac has released an image of it in full camouflage driving through the mountains of Southern California during development testing.

Cadillac ELR Chief engineer Chris Thomason says “Cadillac customers are going to enjoy the unique features ELR will bring to the market.” Thomason went on to say that the Cadillac ELR extended range electric vehicle is going to change the way people think about luxury vehicles and electrification. We’re not sure how, but January 15th we’ll find out.

We know absolutely nothing about the Cadillac ELR, except that it will share the Voltec system with the Chevy Volt and that it will be a 2 door luxury car that will cost likely more than the Volt. As far as all electric range, horsepower, battery size etc, Cadillac is holding it’s hand very close.

  1. ELR forums are stating that Volt owners are being bashed with the Cadillac ELR introduction to the Hybrid market will the cost of ownership be significantly increased?
