A German magazine is reporting that the BMW i3 price will be between 35,000 and 40,000 euros ($43,460-$49,670) when it goes on sale in late 2013. According to Automobilwiche, the price was divulged by a source close to BMW. This price fits with previous reported estimates for the pending electric vehicle.

The sustainable city car goes on sale in late 2013, although there is some confusion around this as some media outlets are reporting 2014 – this could mean the BMW i3 electric vehicle will be launched in 2013 as a 2014 model year. BMW has been saying for some time that it’s price will be comparable to an entry level 5 series sedan.

The BMW i3 has 4 seats suitable for adults and has excellent all around visibility. For a small car, BMW has managed to utilize the space quite well. Even with all of the battery pack storage,  there is still 200 liters of luggage space behind the rear seats.

The BMW i3 is currently on a world tour with the BMW i8 with it’s first stop in Rome.

The estimated range of the i3 electric vehicle is between 85-100 miles, with a motor supplying 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
