BMW says that dealerships need to be certified in order to sell the upcoming i3 electric and i8 hybrid electric vehicles. Being certified includes specialized training and some unique service tools as well as on-site chargers. Dealers are expected to comply if they wish to sell the BMW i3 and i8 vehicles.
The BMW i3 is set to launch this fall in Europe, so BMW has released a list of i brand certified dealers in the UK. Currently at 46 dealers, that’s a small percentage of the hundreds of BMW dealerships in the UK – at least for now.
Order books on the 2013 BMW i3 electric vehicle are expected to open in Europe in July with deliveries starting in November.
Here are the 46 dealerships that are currently BMW i certified in the UK (according to AutoCar)
