2013 Honda Accord Plug In Hybrid

Well, actually these are just photos of the 2013 Honda Accord, but the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models will look the same, except perhaps a charge port door in one of the fenders. The 2013 Honda Accord Coupe will go on sale this fall.

Honda has only slightly changed the design from the previous(current) version of the Accord by sharpening the lines along the body, and making the front grill and headlights more bold. Honda hasn’t revealed the interior yet, but it should match the premium look of the exterior.

According to Honda, the designers did pay close attention to the aerodynamics of this new Accord model and have chosen to install flush windshield glass, flush mounted windshield wipers and underbody panels to help smooth out airflow and reduce drag. The 2013 model is also a few inches shorter than the one it replaces, but apparently has more interior space and trunk space.

When the Accord goes on sale later this year, Honda is planning to offer a hybrid version as well as a plug-in hybrid version of the car that will offer 15 miles of pure electric driving range. Direct competition will be the Toyota Prius plug-in, Chevrolet Volt, Ford C-max Energi, and the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi.
